Acupuncture is a safe treatment for all. It can
be used alongside Western medicine in treatment for acute and chronic
disease. It has the power to stimulate the body's own healing response. Our health is dependent on our body's vital life force or Qi. In good health Qi moves smoothly through the 12 meridians in the body connected to the main internal organs. Qi also regulates mental physical and spiritual balance. Qi can be disturbed for many reasons overwork, stress, fear, anger, grief, poor nutrition, environmental and weather conditions, trauma, and hereditary factors. By inserting ?ne-needles into channels of energy we can stimulate the body’s own healing response and help restore its natural balance. Courses of treatment often involve up to 10 separate sessions, but this can vary. Insertion of the needles. The needles are inserted into speci?c places on
the body, which practitioners call acupuncture points. The needles used are ?ne and are usually a few centimetres long. They should be single- use, pre-sterilised needles that are disposed of immediately after use. Acupuncture practitioners choose speci?c points to place the needles based on your condition. Up to 12 points may be used during a typical session, sometimes more depending on the number of symptoms you have. The needles may be inserted just under the skin, or deeper so they reach muscle tissue. Once the needles are in place, they may be left in position for a length of time lasting from a few minutes up to around 30 minutes.
What does it feel like? You may feel a tingling or a dull ache when the needles are inserted but shouldn't experience any signi?cant pain. If you do, let your practitioner know straight away. In some cases, your practitioner may rotate the needles or stimulate them with a mild electric current (known as electroacupuncture). Acupuncture needles bear little resemblance to those used for injections or blood tests. They are much ?ner and when the needle is inserted the sensation is often described as a tingling or dull ache. Needles are inserted and left in place for up to 20 minutes. During treatment of patients commonly experience a pleasant feeling of relaxation.
After Acupuncture treatment? You may feel sleepy, light-headed, or experience some aching in the areas in which you have been needled. You may experience some bruising or slight bleeding. This is quite normal. Sometimes the symptoms of your condition may feel worse temporarily.

We also use Cupping Therapy Cupping therapy has been found in ancient records dating back 3500 years. Generally, cupping is combined with acupuncture in one treatment, but it can also be used alone. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system. Cupping is used to relieve back and neck pains, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite. Like acupuncture, cupping follows the lines of the meridians. There are ?ve meridian lines on the back, and these are where the cups are usually placed. Using these points, cupping can help to align and relax qi, as well as target more speci?c maladies. By targeting the meridian channels, cupping strives to 'open' these channels - the paths through which life energy ?ows freely throughout the body, through all tissues and organs, thus providing a smoother and more free-?owing qi (life force)When these meridians are opened, the internal energy is able to ?ow through the whole body. The suction from the cups can penetrate deep into your tissues causing the tissues to release . Cupping is one of the best deep-tissue therapies
available. It is thought to affect tissues up to four inches deep
from the external skin. Toxins can be released, blockages can be
cleared. Even hands, wrists, legs, and ankles can be 'cupped,' thus
applying the healing to speci?c organs that correlate with these
points.
